Wiseman's Bridge and Stepaside

Wiseman's Bridge, a tiny hamlet with a rocky beach between Saundersfoot and Amroth, is linked to the former by tunnels through which the railways once travelled carrying coal from the local mines to Saundersfoot Harbour. Pleasant Valley, a beautiful wooded vale, is to be found just inland from Wiseman's Bridge.

Stepaside was a hive of industry in the last forty years of the 19th century with a thriving iron works using iron ore and limestone from the local cliffs.

  • This industrial heritage is documented in fascinating detail at the Stepaside Heritage Centre.
